Alle Monache is a beautiful estate located on the hills, north of Lucca, in the tiny, little hamlet of Castagnori.
The charming mansion in Tuscan style is set on top of a hill and looks down on gentle slopes covered with woods, olive groves, vineyards and cypress-trees. The extensive lands of approximately 19 hectares (not completely fenced) are partly set in terraces but mostly kept as meadow with a wonderful swimming pool (12 x 6 m, depth 1,40 m) where you may take pleasant baths. The delicate scents coming from the aromatic herb bushes, lemon plants, roses and geranium in the garden will make your dining al fresco in the outdoor areas fully equipped with tables, chairs and barbecue even more enjoyable. On the side of the holiday home you will find a covered veranda with panoramic views. Alle Monache disposes of an alarm system and an external room with a washing machine. Mosquito bars at the windows. Free internet access within an internet key. Parking within the property.Alle Monache will guarantee its guests peace and top privacy though the city centre of Lucca is within easy reach (approximately 14 Km) by means of a scenic road which winds downhill.
The other side of the hill provides also an easy connection to the coast by means of the road leading to Camaiore and the famous villages of Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore and Forte dei Marmi. You will find, in the surroundings of the house, excellent restaurants where you may taste delicious local specialties on a panoramic terrace. Or you may want to pay a visit to the many farms and taste wine straight from the producers.The house was carefully refurbished and tastefully furnished by the owners. They used to spend for many years their holidays at this estate. You will feel immediately the warmness and the ambiance the owners were able to create. Every room was formed in its particular way, fancy details and furnishings which match with the colours of the walls. Alle Monache comprises of: ground floor living room divided into various parts communicating with each other and without separating doors. Entrance on the ground floor: well equipped kitchen cum dining with fridge/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, scales, mixer, filter coffeemaker, table with marble surface, chairs. A magnificent dining room with pink coloured walls decorated with ceramic plates, big wooden dining table, chairs, couch, 1 bathroom with WC, bidet and basin. A second dining room with an oval dining table and exit onto the splendid garden which is equipped with a table and chairs to dine al fresco! Living room with 2 couches, TV, also exit onto the garden. Within a few steps downwards access to another spacious living room with big fireplace, 2 couches, desk. Stairs to the 1st floor (dormitory area): 1 twin bedroom, cupboard and 2 windows with wonderful views onto the garden, 2 bathrooms both with WC, bidet, basin and shower (cubicle), 1 double bedroom with cupboard, 2 windows with views onto the garden, 1 twin bedroom, spacious cupboard, 1 double bedroom with light blue coloured walls, cupboard and 1 window, 1 room which remains locked.Traditional materials such as wood (beamed ceilings), terracotta (tiled floors) and cast iron were used for the interiors.
